Thaden School is located on a 30-acre campus in downtown Bentonville, walking distance from the town square, the Bentonville Public Library, Brightwater Culinary Institute, the Momentary, and a variety of other educational resources.
With the support of the Walton Family Foundation’s Design Excellence Program, we have engaged a nationally renowned team of architects to design an enduring and innovative campus that sparks curiosity, inspires creativity, and invites reflection.
As students proceed through the course of the school day, they move through a variety of architectural and landscape features that create an enduring and enriching sense of place. Many classrooms and work areas open into adjacent outdoor areas, and a variety of porches, pavilions, and breezeways further extend the open-air feeling of the campus experience.
Sustainability is also a tangible and important part of a Thaden education: we weave reclaimed materials and structures into the fabric of the School, beginning with the historic McPhetridge House, and have designed the campus in ways that give students hands-on opportunities to study and minimize their environmental impact.
