Physical Education and Wellness

Thaden School provides an extensive physical education, wellness, and outdoor education curriculum. The curriculum encourages physical activity, promotes overall well-being, and fosters a love for outdoors.

Physical education classes prioritize the development of fundamental movement skills. These skills include running, jumping, throwing, and catching. The skills learned in physical education form the foundation for more complex sports and activities, which encourage students to engage in lifelong physical activities.

Health and wellness is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge about various aspects of health, physical fitness, nutrition, mental health, and stress management. Health and wellness encompasses various aspects necessary for achieving optimal well-being.

Outdoor education is an essential component of well-rounded education. Our outdoor education classes allow students to learn and grow outside of the traditional classroom setting. Outdoor education curriculum promotes physical fitness and health by engaging in activities such as hiking, fishing, environmental awareness, camping skills, and trail design.
